This Christmas, I hope you and your family are able to enjoy the spirit of the season. And while you are doing so, I hope you will take a moment and and remember the reason for the season.

 

Two thousand years ago, God came down from Heaven to save us. That's the story of Bethlehem and the message of Christmas. God loved all of us so much that he came to save us. As the Bible says, no greater love exists than that a man die for his friends.

 

I also hope you will take a moment and remember those who are this very day putting their lives at risk for us: our men and women in uniform. Many of them will be away from their families. And I hope you will say a prayer for them.

 

Merry Christmas to you all and may 2012 be your best year ever.
